Say it with Me: No More Lost Dice
In my previous blog post about the ultimate list of portable games, you may have noticed that dice-based games were conspicuously absent. As a traveler and board game enthusiast, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of trying to play these games on the go, especially when it comes to wrangling those pesky runaway rollers. No matter how carefully I roll them, they always seem to have a mind of their own and end up disappearing into the abyss.
Thankfully, there is a solution to this dice dilemma: dice towers and trays. Now, I’ll admit that I used to be a bit of a skeptic when it comes to these accessories. As someone who values traveling very light, I didn’t want to add any unnecessary bulk to my backpack. However, I’ve come to realize that for those die-hard fans (get it, heh) who can’t live without their beloved dice, a compact and efficient dice tower or tray can be a game-changer.

Dice towers can be a good investment for any dice-based game lovers. Not only do they add an extra level of fun and excitement to the game, but they also help prevent pesky runaway rollers and keep the game fair for everyone. As we’ve seen, there are many different types of dice towers available, from the compact and portable to the elaborate and decorative.
And there’s no denying that the sound of dice tumbling down a tower and landing with a clatter is incredibly satisfying. However, it’s important to keep in mind that not all dice towers are suitable for public spaces like planes or buses. Bringing one of the louder models could easily cause a disturbance to those around you, resulting in some unwelcome attention or even a confrontation. So, let’s be considerate of others and choose our dice towers wisely when playing in public.
